Just wanted to let you know that all four hours of Michigan Oldies Podcast Thanksgiving fun are up and ready to be parked forever on your iPod. It took a little while to update the main site to let you know this, but we had a password issue this morning and after calling our hosting guy and having him re-set it, all is well.
Coming up, we would like to do some theme based shows (you know, countdown for New Years, love songs for Valentine's Day, groundhog songs for Groundhog's Day, etc.) and would love to entertain your suggestions. Since you listen to us, it's as much your show as ours, and we like to do things that make you squeal with delight!

Back at work kids!
Just a note to let you know we're back! Just posted the Halloween Spooktacular a couple of weeks ago along with a ghost story from Durand, Michigan-based author Brandy Lenae (or is that "Lanae?"). Also, just posted a deer season episode with erstwhile co-host Dave Winston. If you see Dave on the streets of Saginaw, tell him you heard him on the Michigan Oldies Podcast. He may hug you right there in public!

Summer notes
Hey podcast gang,
Just wanted to drop you all a note to let you know we're still alive and well, just a little lighter in the wallet thanks to gas prices.
Hopefully, we'll get another Michigan Oldies Podcast episode up and posted by the end of August. Both Art and I have day jobs and duties to tend to, and the ensuing conflicts in schedules have made it hard to get together to cook up a show. As always is the case, throwing money our way helps. Still plenty of classic shows to listen to at the site, and we're also part of the new http://www.woaponline.com/ on the weekends..4pm to 6pm Saturday, and 10 to Noon on Sunday. Check it out when you're not busy waxing the cat or something important.

Another podcast pioneer I'd like you to check out: In 1987, I was Program Director of WCFX in Clare, Michigan, which at the time was operating out of a really beat up building. My nighttime talent was a twenty-something CMU student by the name of Cara Stern.
Fast forward 20 years...Cara Stern has morphed into stellar Chicago air personality Cara Carriveau, who logged a number of years middays at legendary rocker WLUP, and is now middays at 101.9 The Mix in the Windy City...and she also makes time for a podcast called Cara's Basement, interviewing music and radio folk, and doing a damn good job of it. Check it out at http://www.carasbasement.com/ . It's a fun listen.

FINALLY...A Fresh Show!
I've finally put up a fresh Michigan Oldies Podcast episode as of today (January 20).
Actually, I febreezed it. It's an episode from January 2006 with me and Dave Winston...there might be one or two songs you heard on a previously posted podcast, and the fact that this is a two year old show is probably why, but hey...oldies are supposed to be timeless!
Where's Art Van, you ask? Gambling away the remainder of his life savings in Las Vegas, but don't worry...he'll be back in Michigan just in time to do another show, and to beg for work.
